The Pattern for Prayer (Part One)
Updated: Mar 19, 2019
Who would best teach us how to pray but the Lord Jesus Himself. To be "in-sync" with God through prayer, firstly we are to invoke the name of the Father, the source of all things seen and unseen. Then we humbly ask, always according to His will. And because we are His children, with an earnest of the Spirit, He listens when we approach His throne through prayer. The Lord's prayer is actually a pattern of how to pray. The elements are ordered correctly for our benefit. It begins with words of endearment to remind us how much God loves us. Followed by refocusing on God, by telling Him how much we love Him. And then our declaration to cooperate with God's purpose for our lives, surrender to His will, and dependence on His provision.
